"One thing occurs to me though. On a completely different App, I once had very similar issues, and it was because (on the iPhone) I had adjusted default font size in the accessibility settings. The App developers had not considered this might happen🤔. Might be worth checking this."

Hey bmr63, I did check and it did sort the problem.. Seems like the SkyGo app is not compatible with ipadOS's Dynamic type functionality.. But it is on the iPhone OS..!!

Come on Sky tv get your apps up to scratch...

Cheers for the pointer Steve, love your work..

CD

Glad to help! Hopefully they’ll fix the App. I’m surprised there’s a difference between iOS and iPadOS though🤷‍♂️

Steve

Spoon1: Has anyone actually used a Sofabaton remote with a Sky Pod?

My Logitech Harmony is nearly dead and doesn't work with it anyway so I'm eyeing up a Sofabaton U2 as a replacement.

To answer myself, it does work with the Sky Pod except for some reason the channel up/down buttons don't work for some reason.  I installed the Button Mapper app on the Sky Pod to verify that on the original remote they were the same buttons I was mapping on the Sofabaton but no dice.  They just do nothing.  I might try and contact Sofabaton to see if they have any solutions...

Just as a follow up on trying to contact the “support” people at Sky, they make a complaint form available to lodge the issue, but, when they send an email (perhaps belatedly in the hope that by then you have fixed it yourself) their server won’t accept the email, because their inbox is full. That’s the response one gets when trying provide more details on the issue you have previously reported.

so nothing gets done about the issue because they can never hear back from the user.! But they can claim to be “responding” to customer’s complaints.

well done sky nz

I think if they had competition they would sort out their shite, you are just low level to the issues they are having at the moment!!

My old Sky box Sky HDi was good, it stayed on the channel you were watching last and when turing the TV on it was there, but now when I turn the TV on sometimes it defaulted to the home screen, proberly due to an update, but the most annoying thing for me is when I turn the TV on, nothing shows on the screen and I notice the Sky Box has turned off

Asking this again as I haven't seen any update or mention in a long while. The media buttons (Play/Pause, FF, RW) on my Sony remote won't control the Sky box when using HDMI-CEC, I see the box LED flash but the buttons have no impact, all the other controls work fine. All my other non-Sony devices respod to the buttons correctly so the Sky box is the odd one out here. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and solved it, or if Sky have a box update in the offing?

Thanks!

Hi SKY, I realized you had updated the Sky Pod this morning when I discovered it had reset itself. The first thing I tested was pressing the Home key on the remote to see if you had fixed the bug you had introduced with the previous update -> when you pressed this key you got the home screen, but when you then pressed the left-arrow key on the remote to go the left panel -> Watch TV, Browse etc, nothing happened. But now that works correctly. The main issue I still have is the TV Guide to go back in time just a few hours, it simply does not play the programme listed in the guide from the beginning, it just plays a random time slot totally unrelated to the programme you have just broadcast. Yesterday I wanted to replay Expedition Unknown. It started by playing the last 2 - 3 minutes of the previous programme, then Expedition Unknown, but stopped at least 2 minutes before the end of the episode and returned to the Guide. If I use ThreeNow app to watch a programme just broadcast on TV3, it starts from the beginning, if I use TVNZ+ app to watch a previous broadcast programme it starts from the beginning, so SKY why can't you do this ?

Hi SkyNZ

Performance is definitely better however I have the following suggestions:

  1. TV Guide needs a "My Subscription" Filter selection which should remain as a default upon entry to the TV guide unless changed by the user to something else and other filters should do the same.
  2. It should power off other HDMI Devices when powered off. Successfully powers off my Sony Bravia TV when powered off but does not power off my Sony Blu-Ray Disc/ DVD Home Theatre System which it should also power off using HDMI CEC in the same way that my Google TV 4k with Chromecast does.
  3. It would also be useful if the TV/AV Input button worked.

Also when are the TVNZ channels going to be incorporated into the TV Guide as originally advertised?

Kind regards

Where can you see the current program version for the Skypod. My Skypod Software is v11.7.4666 and it has been that way for awhile if I remember right. It bears no relation to the number mentioned in the above note from Sky re upgrades

The Sky Pod fast forward now does actually fast forward at x64 speed when you select x64. That's definitely a win.

Hi SKY, here is another issue with the Sky Pod that has been there from the beginning which you have not fixed. If you download an app from the Google Play Store to try out, then decide not to keep it and delete it, your product leaves a space on the screen where the app was. The more apps you delete, the more spaces you get !

See attached photo.

Am I the only one this happens to?  Yet again, I turn on the TV to discover that the Sky Box has gone into deep sleep.  When I go to watch the early news, I discover it has failed to record the planned programmes.

Presumably it updated something overnight, then went to sleep despite being set to record.

Is there something I can do to stop it updating itself?

Mine did it regularly too. At night I typically press the power button on the Sky Box's remote first, then on the TV's remote.

Upon recommendation, I turned off HDMI-CEC.

(My Hub>Android Settings>Device Preferences>HDMI-CEC)

It hasn't done it even once since then.

My TV is a 2008 Samsung, so your results may vary.

Sky Pod is now available to order (Sky: Products - Sky Pod - Overview). I looked to add one as a multiroom and they say, "We'll send a technician to get your Multiroom up and running at no additional charge." Seems a bit weird to do that for a Sky Pod, but maybe old wording.
