i need a Acer Iconia A500 just because my laptop is to bulky to carry around the house to surf the net with and this would compliment my android htc wildfire (considering the screen is to small for surfing the net on the couch).

so i would cherish a middle ground so i can cover all my bases while at home and at work.

Dell Inspiron = would equal advanced gameplaying. oh and working of course

Acer Iconia = Internet couch Surfing and emailing (of course work stuff again)

HTC Wildfire =  phone stuff (what else)

so really what i am trying to say is that i need this device.

I don't have a tablet right now I think the last one I had was a Panasonic Tough Book and that was ages ago but I loved it, I think I would love the Acer Iconia A500 just as much after reading the reviews, would really come in handy for those upcoming cold winter nights when sitting at the PC, PS3 or even dealing with the awkwardness of a laptop in bed is just not an option Wink

I would love the A500 as currently the most advanced portable technology is my useless telecom/ZTE R5 cellphone(completely useless at everything!!!!!) and I can't afford a new one right now. While this is not exactly a cellphone I could make good use of it.

Living in a bus has it's advantages (keeping away the rates / building / council nazis) but space is not on the list.
My old Debian powered EEEPC combined with LG P500 do great but more is better... If I can't win this then it will be the the NotionInkeee

With a tablet, I could think about taking the train into work, rather than driving.
It means an hour longer trip every day, but at least i could be productive.

I need one of these, because I don't have anything :(
I would use it to check IMDB etc from the living room when trying to find a movie to watch that is suitable for the whole family (is there such an app when the youngest likes horror and the eldest likes Disney channel :D ?!?!? )

I've been running a Haipad MID 701r for the past month or so now, and it is perfectly capable for basic web and email, but falls short when trying to do anything more advanced or play games. I've had a try of the Iconia and love the look of Honeycomb and the reponsiveness of the tablet. I'm looking forward to whats coming out and if I don't win this I'll be looking for an Android 3.0 tablet laetr in the year. I'm a real Fandroid I've had 2 different phones now and having tried an iPad 2 I still think that Android is the only way to go.....

May the farce be with you!

Having only recently experienced touch interface tablet magic with my Brother in Law's iPad, I am keen to see how the Android experience compares.

If I won this it would go to use in my classroom. I firmly believe that it's important for young tech users of today get a chance to use a variety of technology and OS in the classroom - that's why my students have access to Windows desktops & laptops, desktop/laptops running Linux and laptops & mobile devices running a variety of iOS systems. The one thing they're not getting exposure to is Android (mainly because I can't afford to buy another device at the moment).

I recently bought an iPad which is used everyday in my classroom - sometimes for the apps but also for mobile internet use - browsing, blogging, youtube etc.

I believe that the Acer Iconia A500 will have the biggest exposure by putting it into my classroom (not to mention the exposure it will get in the staff room and to parents who pop in and out of the classroom on a regular basis).

I am attaching a picture of two of my students (with faces blurred) using the ipad at school. If I could I'd have 4-5 tablets available because of the wonderful ease of use and portability they have.

I currently have a Nokia 2330 Classic - it has Opera Mini and I can play java games and THAT'S ABOUT IT.

Only really posting because it's a free entry :p

Nice. So much easier to use on the sofa than my desk top.
Can't wait to get something like this. The print might be just about big enough for the old eye sight thats not what it used to be....

My current "tablet" is a 2nd-gen ipod touch. Needless to say, I'm running more and more often into the limitations of the device rather than enjoying its strengths.
