I've had a few bad expieriences with DSE too. I rang up the local store to confirm that they had stock of a mini usb cable and the salesman told me that they didn't. I knew that they should have some because the online site stated that they had stock.

I asked him if he knew what a mini usb cable was and he admitted that he didn't! I still called in to the store though and sure enough there they were on the shelf.

Right... although it may be fun to slag off dse it's not really helping the topic at all here which is this one issue. But on that note being a big retailer they are likely to have some lemon's, but on the whole they're not all bad, I mean I was there once so it was awesome then at least :) Back to cga and slagging that off if necessary but do try and stay on topic please :)

I have good and bad moments with lots of retailers but this is not the topic of this specific discussion.

Back on topic...

The OP hasn't returned to update us on the results. So my guess is that after all the talk s/he doesn't want to come back and say "guys, you were right. I lost in the small claims and had to accept the repair".

Either that or he is now the new owner of woolworths/dse (brought from suing them into the ground) and his $1000 a hour PR agent told him not to comment..... yeah right.

had a similar problem with noel leemings bought a new laptop from noel leemngs got a good deal as i payed with cash was not a cheapy laptop either bought the same brand as the one id previously bought from noel leeming for myself a month or so before (which ive had no problem with at all) anyway with this second laptop slightly faster bigger hard drive (im not real techno savvy) had nothing but trouble with it within one week of owning it almost the entire underside of the machine was starting to melt from the help desk of the manufacturer i was told it was a battery problem and that they would pick it up and sort it 2 weeks later i got it back was fine for another couple of weeks until it overheated again this time i was told that we were using the computer for to long a time and that was the problem but as my girlfriend only used it for her night school it only was run for a couple of hours a night 3 nights a week, after i stated this i was told that it maybe that was not being used enough lol so off it went to get repaired again i was then phoned saying that the heat pad had malfunctioned and overheated the whole thing causing a data loss also but if i wanted to pay 400$ they would recover data as my girlfriend needed the data we paid the money got some of (not very much )of the data back and got our computer back still only 6 weeks old after another couple of weeks the same thing happened this time i phoned the commerece commision who told me it was my right to get a replacement after a MAJOR problem had occured if the problem couldnot be repaired so i had to take the afternoon off work as everytime i went to speak to manager at noels in weekend he was never there,
i found that even when i had shown them the facts they were still rude and standoffish by the time i finaly got to speak to the manager after he was very rude to my girlfriend it had been 2 months since the purchase and i was told they could not replace it as it was not brand new anymore,so i went mental and nutted out and stormed out later on that day my girlfriend got a phonecall from a saleswoman at noels saying if we would like to come down on saturday we could pick a new computer by this stage the computer we had originaly bought was no longer in stock so they let us pick one we wanted i picked one that was 1000$ more and was willing to pay the extra to get a better one so as to avoid similar issues again but with a big smile i was told "no dont worry about it think of it as our way of saying sorry for the problem" the thing is is my girlfreind with the same information was treated so badly and rudely yet i go in say a few swear words in front of other customers looking at laptops and all is sorted?

First off you manage to write a single paragraph almost with no periods or commas. Really hard to read.

I don't know why you are complaining about Noel Leeming. They gave you a new laptop, worth $1000 more than what you paid and did not charge the difference?

Also you contacted the manufacturers help desk. If things didn't work there I can't see how this is Noel Leeming's problem and why you close your post with the comment you made.

Some people can't be happy...

It hurts my eyes to look at this, so I simply cannot read it.

Find some grammar, and split it into paragraphs if you expect people to read & respond to you.

What was the outcome? Did you get your rights with the small claims court? We never got an update on this...
