That's the problem with remastering old games with new graphics. Old game mechanics are worlds apart from modern ones, so even with good graphics if the gameplay is crap why would you play?

It's weird though, so many other people rated that game so highly. Do so few people care about controls?

The Last Guardian isn't a remaster though? It languished in development hell for years and was originally planned for the PS3 for sure, but it saw its first and only release on the PS4...
Doesn't change the fact that it fell well short of its predecessors!

I am surprising myself by still playing Ghost of Tsushima!
I am beyond the part where I normally get bored and lose interest in games of this type and mechanic, but something keeps drawing me back. In the final act and reckon I will finish it.
I too am surprised that I have kept going with it. The main quests and the side tales are great and some of the characters are genuinely interesting but the gameplay mechanics are quite boring, especially for someone who's played this "properly". I've happily explored all of the Act 1 area and have fully liberated it. Even before unlocking Act 2, I had already unlocked all stances, unlocked all the skills that I care to have under the Samurai tree, and have made significant progress elsewhere. I am playing on hard and with the heavenly strike and lots of resolve, I am just demolishing through the enemies with ease most of the time.
One wishes they'd made the world smaller instead and given us all more interesting and tighter gameplay.

Very excited for Tony Hawks demo unlocking in the wee small hours tomorrow.
I spent so much time on the original PS1 demo before buying the game some 20 years ago...
All the previews looks like they have nailed the remake
I never got into it as I was a PC gamer at the time but I do recall the huge cultural impact that game had. Hasn't really been anything like it since, except maybe Fortnite
Anyone else got Flight Simulator preloading from their MS PC account? I can see I can pre-order and it's tried to download the 100+GB a couple of times and errors out...
Grabbed Sea Of Thieves last night.... had it when it was first released via the Game Pass. Enjoyed it but not enough content, but now there's a lot more and few friends keen on it so thought stuff it and grabbed again.
Anyone else play and need a crew member? :)

Mine preloaded with zero issues. I am waiting for my Honeycomb yoke to arrive before playing, however.
Finished Ghost of Tsushima. One consistent theme with me is that my opinion on games tend to improve as I get into them (recent notable exception being the FFVII remake) and this is also the case. The gameplay mechanics are fairly basic and most of the open world tropes are of course there. But what makes this game so compelling is the game world, sound engineering, graphics, and some of the quite interesting characters. Some of the graphics in Act 1 was pretty low quality but overall things really pick up later on. The characters are also generally flawed in believable and relatable ways but the ending is quite predictable. It's not the 9/10 that the likes of IGN rated it as but if the game world and aesthetics appeal to you, it's well worth it. Just traipsing around doing random activities is quite relaxing. 7.5/10.
In AC Odyssey it sort of troubles me that, as an animal lover, I feel bad when I ride my virtual horse, Phobos, recklessly over a cliff and he temporarily dies - but I will slaughter and assassinate Spartan and Athenian soldiers in their hundreds or thousands without batting an eyelid.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
I struggled a bit in Black Flag and Oddessey when killing majestic animals like Whales and Sharks etc, it felt.. confronting...
