K1000716: I'd count on a day at least to turn them around and be shipped out. I'm not expecting mine until mid next week at the earliest.

Nooooooooooooooo!!!!! YellYellLaughing

Waiting for this phone, I feel a little bit like a kid just before his birthday. You know you've got something good coming to you, and while there's nothing you can do to make your parcel come quicker, that wait is just so damn long...

Sigh. My desire for instant gratification will have to remain unfulfilled just a little bit longer.

Update:
NZtechfreak: Since I ordered in February I will keep hoping for an email confirming shipping from them very soon!

Good luck! I hope that someone's phone comes in soon so that we can get an in-forum review.

You could try a few unboxing vids on youtube to tide you over, there's a few already.

I'd say NZtechfreak will have his first among the GZ'ers. Always follow his reviews on the phones he gets!

Not the extreme unboxing though, those are stupid.

An impressive fix time but in the end that wasn't the issue for me with the galaxy s and for many others , i don't care if i have to wait 2 minutes for the initial fix.
The problem with the galaxy s was the accuracy and keeping it while moving etc.

Has anyone seen any reviewers actually taking it for a spin in a car through a city etc?

Also, anyone heard any detailed looks at the camera quality?

If they have those two things sorted out, I'll be very tempted to upgrade though I wish they had managed to get the non pentile on a 4inch screen...

There is these ones

Does anyone know if the cheaper freight option uses a tracking number or just the courier.

Royal Mail has tracking services too, so I would have thought its available to both, but I could be wrong (I always use courier for minimum delay, even pay GST while its still in the air to expedite things, fortunately I live 5mins from the airport, so I can even drive there to collect rather than wait for a courier to deliver it).

(I'm very ADHD when it comes to waiting for new toys)

I tried that, and it only made the itch worse.

I have had mine for several days Smile

ATM I don't really have much more too add other than that which has already been covered off in the plethora of reviews online.

Its a lot faster than the SGS 1, GPS is noticeably better IMO but have not tested extensively enough to say much further. I guess the one comment that I would have which does not seem to have been echoed elsewhere much is that it gets very hot if using WiFi to stream a lot of content over a considerable length of time.

I installed Gunbros, WSOP and streamed some BBC iPlayer and the unit was at the point there I had concerns regarding damage due to heat - it really was that bad. I recall some reviewers at MWC saying something similar after units had been used for several hours there. It will be interesting to see how the organic pigments in the OLED react to such heat over time given the technology is reasonably new, and has probably not regularly been exposed to such temperatures over a considerable length of time - accelerated ageing tests don't cover everything.

Did you have an SGS 1 (i9000) ? How does the heat compare?

My SGS (i9000) gets really hot when used for tethering but it's never affected the device or caused any issues. THey seem to be quite resilient.

Yes I did, generally the same heat wise except the top end, where it is noticable warmer.
