Reading any of the last few pages would have answered your question.

DLM-1     1ms  0INP
DLM-2     8ms  0INP
DLM-4     8ms  1INP
DLM-6     8ms  2INP
DLM-3   16ms  0INP
DLM-5   16ms  1INP
DLM-7   16ms  2INP
DLM-8   16ms  4INP

Looks like you are on DLM-4.

Although I have read all the information on this and other threads I am not sure what the information below from my modem equates to for my DLM profile.

Firstly there are 2 different numbers for both INP (1.00 & 1.50) and Delay (12.00 and 15.00) - which number do you use? the first or second?

Then neither the numbers for delay match those listed agains the profiles.

My vdsl has been running for 10 days now with no problems and I am getting 25 down and 9 up which I am happy with.

Just had mine installed now, the tech was here for literally 5 minutes (I told him as he walked through the door this would be the easiest install all day).

Uptime:0 days, 0:02:06

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:14.6 / 6.9
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:12.8 / 12.4

Number of bearers:                           1
Bearer 0                                     DS             US
INP [DMT symbols]:                    2.00           2.00

Starting on DLM-6 and pretty happy with these stats, many thanks to the Chorus guy (I've already forgotten his name) and super helpful Telecom reps.

keeza: Don't know whether others are experiencing this as well but I have been bumped down the waiting list 3 times. I called and got told VDSL would be connected 31 July, then I get a text yesterday saying it will be connected 1 Aug and now I get a text saying 2 Aug. I call up Telecom and they say it could change again. Tell them I'm not happy and explain circumstances but I got snapped at. Not cool. Anyone going through this kind of stuff? How long did it take you to get connected? Pretty frustrating since I'm currently in Auckland and need to travel down to Wellington to make sure I am there in time for the VDSL tech but keep getting told different dates. I travel a lot for work so this is driving me a bit nuts.

Anyone with other VDSL providers or can give me feedback on them?

Thanks :)

Hi Keeza,

I can advise you that delays to connections in the Wellington area are being caused by the recent earthquakes. All the exchange buildings were locked down by Chorus pending an inspection of their structural integrity. For their own safety, the technicians have been unable to access the exchanges until they are deemed safe, and this has taken time to complete.

This has had a knock on effect as a lot of orders have had to be rescheduled (eg - orders due 22/07 going ahead 24/07, therefore orders originally scheduled 24/07 pushed out to 26/07 etc). This has affected any order where the technician has required access to the Wgtn exchanges.

I know that is frustrating but it was unforeseeable and out of Chorus' control. This will have affected orders with all service providers.

If you PM me your details I can look into your individual case.

Thanks,
Simon

SIMON! You're an absolute MAGICIAN. Thank you so much. My VDSL and phone line got set up today. Granted the chorus guy was a bit grumpy and went on a long, angry rant before he even came into the house because he had been "overbooked" but I offered him tea and biscuits and he softened up straight away. Just a tip for any of you still waiting to get VDSL connected!

He left saying I had the fastest connection he had done in the last 3 weeks in this area and that it was all karma because I was so nice hahaha.

Any ideas on why power is so high on the UP ?

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [B/B]: 0 / 0

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 429496727.3 / 10.6

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.1 / 2.3

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 30.3 / 12.6

Mine was like that for a few days during the DLM training period, but it settled down afterward. No idea why.

It's a bug in the Technicolor firmware, it can't handle displaying a negative value which you'll see accurately if you have a look at the same values via the telnet interface.

Info on mine:

Web interface:
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:429496721.5 / 13.5

Telnet Interface (Down/Up):
    Output power [dBm]:   13.5           -8.1

My DLM has dropped from 6 to 3 and my downstream went from 39Mbps to 43Mbps, so will be interesting to see if it ever hits DLM1.

VDSL install today. A very busy Chorus guy (well there were two of them) arrived and just needed to plug in the new modem. Although he had to go back and fix the phone line once.

Asked if it was possible to move my existing master filter (this was put in years ago when ADSL installs were done by Telecom engineers) but no joy, he was too busy. Told me to ring and book another job.

My ADSL speed test before:

And my now VDSL speed test after 6 hours: (Pretty happy with these!)

I'm sure that's a bug of router software. And it's not major bug. :)

Been on VDSL for about 2 days and great speed so far :D

Just inregards to the modem, I would like to DMZ my home server, and it has a static IP set on it and the VDSL modem will only let me do it for a DHCP assigned pc :( is there any way around this? even via telnet?

Must admit theres been heaps of info on this topic, and you Telecom guys are being awesome, I think I knew everything about this setup before we even arranged the install ;)

The DMZ function in the TG589vn works a little differently than some other implementations. It actually allocates the public IP via DHCP to the DMZ client - thus the reason it can only work if you have DHCP assigned. This works fine when you're putting, say, a router in the DMZ, and can have the public IP on it's WAN interface, and still have it's LAN interface configured as normal.

I have a wierd problem As stated earlier my internet connections keeps dropping off after a few minutes
I have to either restart my computer or disdable/enadle my net work adapter. I have logged my problem with telecom but they dont seem to be making progress.
Today I downloaded Movie Planet App. While playing a movie from this site I am able to surf the inernet without dropping my connection.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my dilemma. Or should I just play a movie in the background while on the net.(one way around the problem)
Thanks for any advice
