I paid for that car. If I want to take corners on two wheels at 180 kph, why shouldn't I be able to?

Physics most likely.

I mean, you might enter the corner at 180kmh and briefly be up on two wheels, but what happens next will shock you. :-p

Decided to skip chapter 4....

The author was fine about that. He'd been paid already.....

When you buy a game, you are buying a virtual world that runs according to certain rules. The rules are essential. Otherwise the world is just random chaos. You are complaining about the rules of the world you purchased. Either get over it or find a world that suits you better.

You assume every purchaser has complete knowledge of every game they buy before they buy it.

There's no earthly reason why a 'skip' option couldn't be included. Heck, with half a brain applied, they could even monetise it.

It is typical of the computer and related industry sellers don't believe they sell a product they believe they lend it.

All games need an idclip mode. ( From DOOM ):

No clipping (the player can walk through walls, monsters, and obstacles, climb high ledges instantly, and pass through items and across all tagged linedefs with no effect

Agreed. Not everyone who pays (up to) $150 for these games has the proficiency of a 15 year old who has had a Play Station controller in their hands since they were old enough to hold one.

The thing should be fun and if the challenge becomes too much, the player gets frustrated and gives up. Cynically, you could say that the game company has been paid so they do not care if you carry on or not, but why should you be prevented from bypassing bits you can't get past?

As I said above, they could monetise it. Imagine how much they'd trouser if you could use "Skip" and each use required 'Skip Credits' at $2 a pop?

Geektastic: Games you can't skip bits you find too hard and which then ruin the whole thing because you can't progress.

I paid. If I want to skip bits, why shouldn't I be able to?

I'd pay really good money to be a fly on the wall watching you trying to pass that level.

There are several. After about 50 tries, the games just don't get opened any more.
