Incase anyone wants to see what this looks like on iPhone:

- Went into Settings > General > About. Wait there a minute or two (Make sure WiFi/Mobile Data is on).

- Get this pop-up:

Carrier Update

- Tap "Update", obviously. Then the "Service Provider" tag would change to 2degrees 32.1 (was 32.0 in my case before, most would also be the same).

- Then go to Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling. Turn the switch on, agree to the pop-up.

- To see that it's all finished, look at the carrier in the top left it will say 2degrees WiFi Calling. It'll have to scroll because it's so big. On iPhone X it shows in Notification Center as below:

WOOT!
Works for me too, thanks for the notification @tardtasticx !

Currently out in the sticks and this makes ALL the difference when outside even Vf roaming coverage 👍

Whats the Service Provider version in Settings > General > About ?
And what version of iOS as well?

Also, it's not enabled by default once the update is installed so you'll have to go to Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling and turn it on.

And the good old: "Have you tried turning it on then off again?" hahaha

Try resetting the network settings.
Settings > General > reset > reset network settings.
Saved wifi networks wi be lost so be careful to set that back up.

Had a couple of customers the other week that had weird inbound and outbound calling issues on iPhone out of the blue. This fixed it instantly so hopefully same for wifi calling.

Apparently ‘not all wifi networks are supported’?

Have you tried on a different wifi network?

Also says ensure the iCloud, iMessage and AppleStore logins are on the same AppleID?

SaltyNZ:

Has anyone tried this on a rooted android phone? Had a quick squiz on a few xda and reddit threads, and provided operator + hardware support this, then adding the following to your build.prop file should get it to work?

# Debug Options
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1

# Radio Options
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1

And also enable things in the hidden dialer menu via  *#*#4636#*#*

You need a bit more than that to make it work, I'm afraid. The addresses of our gateways, for example.

So I take it 2degrees won't be making their gateway addresses and whatever other changes are needed public for people with unofficial (rooted) firmware installed?

Not in the short or medium term, no. Long term I couldn't say.

So back to work again today, and WiFi calling icon vanished on the 100/50 VF fibre connection we have (school). No hits when I googled for the ports I need to open (I’m the IT guy on the spot there too) and wifi calling reappeared when I got home (on SkinnyBB - cellular).

Any ideas what ports I need to open/forward on the FortiNet firewall @SaltyNZ?

[also quite hillarious to be able to use Skinny cellular B.B. to route 2D wifi calling though 💫]

That I can certainly find out in particular, but I can tell you already the basic transport is an IPSec tunnel between the handset and our gateway so you'll need at least the normal stuff open for IPSec. After that, everything is inside the tunnel so it shouldn't matter. I currently appear to have a virtual connection open to 118.149.14.20 UDP 4500 according to my router but that's for the open tunnel. Maybe the normal ports for IKE?
