Out of all of the people who insist that the Second Amendment is meant to prevent a tyrannical government, very few came out in support of protesters in Portland, Oregon, when unidentified federal agents began arresting people without probable cause.

The Washington Post - The stock market is detached from economic reality
10 Sep 2020
Wealthy investors and the Fed have been propping up large companies. It can’t last.
When the stock market surged early this month, President Trump was quick to tweet, “The Dow Jones Industrial just closed above 29,000!” ...
How have stocks remained so resilient in the face of such a severe shock?
In part, it’s because of inequality.
Stocks are overwhelmingly owned by the top 1 percent, which means speculation has been able to continue even as more people have lost their jobs than at any time since the Great Depression. ...

That also shows up in other areas as well, e.g. the Republicans vetoing relief measures because, as Steve Munchkin put it, "we don't want to pay people more for not working than what they get when they're working". What he's totally unaware of since he never mixes with the people he's talking about is that a lot of the US makes ends meet solely from tips, not their criminally low wage. Without the tips they can't survive on just wages alone. So when the government takes money they're taxed based on base wage + estimated tips, but when it gives they'd only get income support based on the base wage.
nathan: Yet another example Republicans and Democrats support the same policies
Mnuchin “used to be” democrat
Working Class: Help Us Please
Republicans: No
Democrats: No ❤🏳️🌈#blm

The issue "could be" who is the best party? As they have the best overall outcome. Or who is the best President, As he/she has the best outcome. But you portraying that you would never vote for Biden, is voting against one person. Why not just say I will always vote for Trump?
The issue in the US is vote for an idiot or dont vote for an idiot. I dont recall any other election where GOP or Dems publicly stated they will support the other party to get rid of the President.
nathan: Mnuchin “used to be” democrat
He used to be Goldman Sachs, that's all that counts. Once you've been part of the vampire squid, anything else is just a transient thing.

He would fit in, just as well, into a Biden administration.
and we know, Biden, is going to select someone as equally tied to Wall St, someone like a Jamie Dimon or a Larry Summers

Biden's voting record is disturbing

I'm not voting for Trump. And if that mental gymnastics was logical, then not voting for Trump would be a vote for Biden. But its not. Simply demanding some policies I care about from politicians, instead of pointing fingers at the bad ones. The antidote to Trump isn't a warmongering racist screwer of worker's and the environment

its all performative theater, a bit like WWE WWF Wrestling, both sides owned by the same boss, and we know what the outcome will be after a few fake body-slams. The false choice presented to us by the corrupt duopoly of the Democratic and Republican parties
kingdragonfly:
I understand that if Biden is elected only mimes will have jobs, everyone will be forced to change gender roles, all parking meters will be replaced with goats.
Still better than Trump, I suppose.

that is a bit of a distorted reality of what happened
its not a veto, its a vote, and both sides are not serious about passing any relief. Both sides have "messaging" bills that they cram all sorts of crazy stuff into, that have nothing to do with any relief whatsoever, that then don't pass, so they can blame the other side for not letting it pass.
The republicans, as you point out, for ideological deficit reasons, but the democrats equally for political reasons. The Dems have absolutely nothing except not being as awful as Trump. In the midst of the worst pandemic in a century, they can't even bring themselves to advocate, even temporarily, for healthcare coverage for the 29 million new unemployed Americans who have lost it and 30 million who never had it. Neither side cares or offers any real solution. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
